Counselling pilot in local GP surgery a success

We know from listening to families in our community that the need for mental health support for teenagers is there, but the support is still very difficult to access.

As a way of extending the provision to offer more comprehensive mental health support to secondary aged students in the area, we have recently undertaken a pilot with Old Parsonage Surgery in Goudhurst to offer counselling places after school hours for secondary aged students.

The pilot saw us offering up to 12 online counselling sessions to three students. Based on the success of the pilot we are now looking at extending the pilot to support another cohort of students in need of mental health support.
