MHS raise £650 at annual Dragonboat race
On August 31st Marlborough House School families competed in the Bewl Water Dragon Boat Race to raise funds for the Weald Family Hub. In addition, they had some beautiful homemade cakes available for sale for other teams to buy and for the many spectators who came along, helping to raise even more.
MHS families doubly rose to the occasion by fronting not just one but TWO boats for the annual event. Paddlers and drummers (a total of 34 in all) braved the elements to compete with 30 other teams for the coveted trophy. Thankfully the weather held, and whilst it was cool and breezy for most of the day (making for slightly more challenging racing conditions), the MHS teams managed a respectable 9th and 11th position overall. We are pleased to share that nearly £650 was raised in support of our work at the Weald Family Hub.
